The old linear model of marketing, sales and service is on life support.

The NEW Game model is:
SERVE -> DELIVER -> SERVE SOME MORE.

You serve from first contact.
You serve first, last, always.

Serving demonstrates leadership.
Serving builds high value relationships.
Serving wins the NEW Game of business.

Serving is a fundamental human motivation.
Serving is the driving force that propels business and commerce.
Serving is the why behind the what and how of work.

If you want to make an impact on people, serve them.
If you want to demonstrate your value, serve them.

You want people to beat a path to your door?

Scratch their ITCH for:

Information – provide the exact piece they need
Transportation – take them where they want to go
Communication – send messages that resonate and drip with value
Help – get what they want, eliminate what they don’t want

If you want to stimulate activity, generate movement and attract qualified buyers:

You need new prospects for your product or service:

Serve every customer.

Want to reduce your marketing expense and increase your market presence:

Serve every person in your target market.

You want a new job:

Serve every person who can hire you or recommend you.

When times are tough the tough serve, deliver, and serve some more.

The telephone is still the most cost effective, personal communication medium.

Pick up the phone and…

SERVE SOMEBODY TODAY!

Deliver value to somebody who will value it.
Then, ask that person to send you to someone else to serve.

Marketing can help you reach and sort the buyers from the browsers.

SERVING DEMONSTRATES YOU CAN DELIVER VALUE.
DELIVERING VALUE IS THE GAME.

Why isn’t service-ability taught at every level of our education system? Serving is the bedrock of work in every form, and the foundation of every commercial transaction. Yet, you’d be hard-pressed to find a course on how to be of service in high school or college. Even in the business community, there is woefully little training in how to BE OF SERVICE.

You don’t need a course IN service to be OF service.
The new game of business is a game of servant leadership.

I am always amused by Golda Meir’s admonition,

“Don’t be so humble. You’re not that good.”

Are you too humble?
Is the humility gremlin holding you back?

Do you diminish the value of your work and your worth?
Do you hesitate to tell people how good you are?
Do you delay action for fear of what people might think?
Do you fear disapproval if you speak your truth?
Do you think what you think doesn’t really matter?
Do you hold back to avoid confrontation or conflict?
Do you shy away from asking for what you want?
Do you deny yourself because others need it more?
Do you accept less than you deserve?
Do you walk away hungry from the smorgasbord of life?

You and I have some things in common.

Is something burning inside you that if you don’t let
it out, you just might spontaneously combust?

Don’t you want to shout from the rooftops for people
to hear how much good you can do for them?

Don’t you want everyone who can benefit from you
to be able to find you?

Don’t you want to play the best game you can play,
not just go through the motions every day?

Do you want to touch the souls of other human beings?

After 30 years of humble service guided by
Golda’s golden words, I am changing my tune.

My NEW mantra is….

“Don’t be so humble. You ARE that good!”

You have gifts to unwrap and blessings to offer.
You have talents, skills and ideas to enrich the market.
You have energy to supply to those who are depleted.
You have wisdom to share that can soothe someone’s soul.
You have value beyond measure.

You cheat the world every day you withhold these.

The pain of regret cuts deeper than a pinch of ridicule.

Don’t hold back any longer.
It’s time to throw humility to the wind.

I don’t know how you feel, but I have never been very comfortable with self-promotion.

I find a bit off putting when I hear people boast about how much money they make, drop names of people they know, or pretend they are humble when they really want you to know how successful and important they are.
